The CNN project was a major renovation of an existing high-rise in Hollywood, including upgrading all building systems and public areas. House & Robertson served as executive architects for extensive remodeling and renovation of all ground-floor public area and street facades, and the creation of features that reinforce the brand and mission of CNN. A new 30,000-sq.-ft. state-of-the-art digital broadcast center was introduced in the base of the building. This included advanced HVAC and electrical systems for a broadcast studio, edit bays, digital library and other spaces supporting the West Coast News Division. Both the building upgrades and construction of the new broadcast center were completed while the building was fully occupied without any downtime to CNN’s ongoing operations on the site.
