The Pasadena Corporate Park project involved the adaptive reuse of two 1960s vintage three-story defense industry lab buildings into new class A office spaces totaling 260,000 sq. ft. The renovations included major seismic upgrades to the existing structures plus 25,000 sq. ft. of added floor area, new exterior cladding, new cores including all new elevators, washrooms and new HVAC systems. The office campus development included a reconfiguration and updating of the site improvements, such as surface parking areas and all new hardscape and landscape amenities. A four-story free-standing parking structure and a new 8,000-sq.-ft. freestanding retail building was also added on the 8.2-acre site. The project was awarded the 2004 National Award of Merit from the Society of American Registered Architects and the 2000 Grand Prize Award from the Southern CA Development Forum.
