The Forum Renovation

< | >

House & Robertson served as the architect of record for the renovation of the historic 1967 Inglewood Forum (once home to the Los Angeles Lakers and the Los Angeles Kings) into a premium performance venue for major music acts. The objective was to convert the arena into a theater setting exclusively for music. This entailed new theater-style seating for 18,000 concertgoers, extensive reconfiguration of the lobby and concessions areas, and the complete remodel and expansion of the famous Forum Club. The Forum’s exterior walls were restored to their original Roman Red color, and extensive enhancements were made to the exterior entry terrace, new exterior food and beverage areas, and site work featuring new pocket parks. The project also included major updates to the building infrastructure and services. The Forum project was recognized with a 2014 Preservation Honor Award from the National Trust for Historical Preservation, and the 2014 California Preservation Foundation Award.
