Otium Restaurant at the Broad Museum Plaza

< | >

In collaboration with restaurant designer Osvaldo Maiozzi, House & Robertson served as the executive architect for a new building which houses the acclaimed Otium restaurant. Located in downtown Los Angeles, this freestanding 8,500-sq.-ft. restaurant building faces onto the new public plaza adjacent to The Broad Museum. The one-story building sits on a bridge structure perched over 2nd Street, and includes ipe hardwood siding in addition to custom tube steel storefronts, curtainwalls and trellis elements. The restaurant interior features an open kitchen with adjacent patio dining and was completed in late 2015. The project was the recipient of 2017 Excellence Retail/Restaurant award from the Los Angeles Business Council.
