House & Robertson was the executive architect for a back-of-house building within the security perimeter at a major theme park complex in Anaheim, California. The two-story, 42,000-sq.-ft. building integrates three separate employee functions into one structure: a cast costume distribution and storage facility; an employee services center comprised of offices, the employee credit union and ridesharing offices; and a new employee store and ticket distribution center. As the new building was located on a severely constricted site in the theme park’s existing back-of-house zone, issues relating to maintenance of adjacent operations, and minimizing impacts to existing campus utility infrastructure, were paramount to the project’s success. The project was completed in 1999.
